Minor in Nutrition »

The Minor in Nutrition is especially suited for biology, biochemistry, chemistry, health sciences, pre-med, pre-health, and athletic training students who wish to receive a good foundation in nutrition.  It also prepares students to pursue a Master of Science in Food Science.

Many health related fields can use people with a scientific understanding of nutrition.  These include food science, dietetics, health science, medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, sports medicine, physical education, psychologists, school teachers, etc.  Their nutrition expertise can be used to advise consumers, patients, and athletes, develop new products and enhance their core knowledge.

Minor in Psychology »

Students interested in pursuing a Minor in Psychology have the ability to choose from two tracks: 

• Track 1: An all-purpose, general overview of psychology that includes research methods, critical thinking, and process classes.

• Track 2: Applied courses: select from any of the classes to tailor the minor to your interests.  For instance, those interested in law enforcement would be more apt to take coursework on forensic psychology.

The Minor in Psychology serves as a comprehensive enhancement for a variety of majors, as a general knowledge base in psychology greatly improves one’s communication and interpersonal skills.
