The Sociology Club
The Sociology club strives to promote social awareness among Chapman University students. Most meetings consist of group discussion analyzing popular culture, media, and current events through a sociological lens. Applying theory, critical thinking, and personal experience, members can understand sociology as it applies to the real world. Members can look forward to collaborations with other clubs throughout the semester, field trips, and taking action to make improvements on campus. Sociology club is a safe space to allow Chapman students to learn from each other in an intellectual community. All are welcome, come connect with us! We meet every Monday at 7 p.m in the sociology lounge on the second floor of Roosevelt Hall.

Alpha Kappa Delta Society was founded in 1920 in the Sociology Department of the University of Southern California by Dr. E.S. Bogardus. AKD seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement of the human condition. The Chapman Chapter hopes to continue AKD traditions and objectives with a variety of events throughout the academic year.
Once you join, you become a lifetime member. AKD provides members with a membership certificate, a membership card, and one free year of Sociological Inquiry, the official journal of the Society, AKD newsletter, as well as opportunities to receive funding for student travel to regional sociological meetings and funds research symposia.
