New Student Advising & Registration

ยป New Student Advising & Registration

Our Academic Advising team will help you prepare for class registration, your first semester, and a great academic experience overall here at Chapman. You will not be able to enroll into your fall courses until you meet with your advisor.

For students entering in spring 2025, a link to schedule your advising appointment will be emailed to you in November.

Registration process

A key part of preparing for your first semester at Chapman is selecting your classes. The resources on our Registration Process website will help you understand that process and register for classes on your assigned date and time. In addition, note that:

Find your advisor
Every student is assigned a dedicated advisor. Over the summer, they can help you with your fall schedule and prepare for a great start. You can find yours on our Find Your Advisor page.

Math Assessment

Incoming first-year students, and select transfer students, need to complete their Math Assessment by mid-June. For specific details, visit our the Math Assessment page relating to your type of major:

Language requirements and planning form

At Chapman, you are required to take language classes as part of your General Education requirements. But if you already know how to speak and write in a language besides English, you have options to test or place higher in your language sequence, or waive the language requirement entirely:

  • You can learn more about this process on our Language Placement Exams page.
  • When you know what your plans are for completing or waiving your language requirement are, we ask that you complete our Language Planning Form. This will help our advising team help you plan your academic experience.

Find your advisor

All undergraduate students have an assigned Academic Advisor. You can find yours—and reach out with any questions—on our Advising website.
