Purpose:
To foster and enhance American and British relations.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizens who hold a first degree from an accredited U.S. university
- Minimum GPA of 3.7
- Wish to pursue a graduate degree at a university in the United Kingdom
Candidate Profile:
In appointing scholars the selectors will look for candidates who have the potential to excel as scholars, as leaders and as contributors to improved UK-US understanding. Assessment will be based on academic merit, leadership potential and ambassadorial potential.
Award:
Covers University fees, cost of living expenses, annual book grant, thesis grant, research and daily travel grants, fares to and from the United States, and, where applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse. Typical award is in excess of $30,000.
Types of Awards:
One Year Marshall Scholarship that cannot be extended; Two Year Marshall Scholarships may be extended for an additional year.
Number of Awards:
Up to 40 Scholarships awarded annually.
