Internships
Chapman is located in Southern California, which means we are right at the heart of the film and television industries and are a great place to get your foot in the door with an internship. Our students have interned with organizations like DreamWorks, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, Lionsgate, Blumhouse Productions and more.
Study Abroad
Take your passion for storytelling worldwide in one of our many study abroad programs. We’ll work closely with you to find one that aligns with your schedule and goals.
Clubs and Organizations
Pop quiz: as an aspiring writer, what’s the best way to continuously improve your writing chops? Answer: getting feedback and support from other aspiring writers, including your peers.
At Chapman, you’ll be able to do just that. We’re home to a community of up-and-coming screenwriters, and you’ll be able to join in with student-run organizations like:
- Primetime Television Club: Craft your own characters and worlds, work with student directors and actors and get your work published online.
- Short Club: Flex your creative muscles by creating a short film every month and screening it on campus/online.
- Delta Kappa Alpha: Connect with passionate future filmmakers in this chapter of the national, cinema-focused professional fraternity. (And don’t let the “fraternity" moniker fool you: DKA is open to everyone regardless of gender.)
Other Perks
- Work on actual film sets and learn the entire production process alongside student producers, directors and actors.
- Join a community of passionate visual storytellers.
- See your scripts adapted for the screen and shown on campus and in the larger community.
- Get career guidance for life (yes, really: for life) at our Career Center.
