In an effort to assist the large number of first year students in our residence halls, First Year Community Assistants (FYCAs) focus on the needs of first year residents as they navigate their experience in the residence halls. FYCAs inform first-year students of campus resources necessary for personal and academic growth.
FYCAs are an integral part of the residence life staff connecting students to university resources, facilitating preventative programming and providing intervention methods in their attempt to support student development in first year halls. The FYCAs also facilitate roommate agreements, mediate roommate conflicts, and provide programs to first year student living in the residence halls.
The FYCAs can be found at their mobile desk throughout the residence halls as well as their office located in North Morlan 172 on the 1st floor between the stairwells.
The FYCAs are available in Morlan 172 and at the mobile desk in the residence halls Sunday - Wednesday 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
