An internship can increase your understanding of a chosen field, enhance your academic experience, expand your network, and provide you with a new perspective beyond the classroom. Studies show that students with proven job skills and related work experience gained from internships are viewed as valuable assets by employers and can even lead to a higher starting salary. Moreover, three of the top personal qualities employers seek are communication skills, leadership, and teamwork, all of which can be developed during an internship.
