What You Need to Know—And When You Need to Know It

Activating your Chapman Student Account

  • Shortly after receiving your offer of admission, an email is sent from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department to the email address listed on your application. It outlines how to activate your Student Account and access to If it has been more than two weeks since your acceptance, please contact the IS&T Service Desk at

  • You will use this username/password to register online and access your student information system. 

Setting up your PantherMail E-mail Account

  • Once you are admitted, all official e-mails from Chapman (including information on your specific registration date and time) will be sent to your Chapman e-mail account.
  • Set up your new e-mail account, using the instructions outlined in the email from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department after being granted admission.

March 2

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Financial Aid Processing Due
The priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 2. If the priority deadline is not met you may still apply, but funding for certain aid programs may be exhausted.

June 1

Transfer Enrollment Deposit Deadline 
Applicable to incoming transfers only. You can make the deposit online here or by sending a non-refundable $200 check and completed student enrollment deposit agreement form to the Office of Admission.

Housing Application and Housing Deposit Deadline
Only admitted transfer students can apply online for on-campus housing. Housing applications must be submitted online and submitted with a non-refundable $50 housing application fee and $600 security deposit. (This deposit is separate from the enrollment deposit.) Applications submitted without an application fee and a housing deposit will not be processed or considered for an assignment. Living on campus is not required of transfers but we will have on campus housing available as well as off campus housing options in Panther Village also available for interested transfer students.

Mid-May and Ongoing

Registration Information Letter
Provides information on summer advising options and course registration. Note: all registration is done online. Transfer Students will have the option of receiving advising online or through one on one in person or phone appointments.
You must submit your Enrollment Deposit before you can begin working with the Academic Advising Center.

Student I.D. Photo Submission
Submit a recent photo to be used for your Chapman University student identification card by the end of July (recommended).

Receptions are held throughout the summer all over the country to welcome new students and their families to the Chapman community.

Academic Advising
Advising for new students begins the first week of June.

Math Placement Testing
Placement testing is completed online for those students who wish to be placed into a higher level math course. Any student who scored below a 540 on the SAT/Math or below 23 on the ACT/Math is REQUIRED to take the Algebra Placement Test.

Registration for Classes
All new students will be assigned a specific date and time when they can begin registering for courses. Those dates will be available on WebAdvisor in late June or early July.

You will receive a billing statement that details tuition and other charges for the upcoming semester.

The Housing Assignment information and Notification Email provides students with housing information, which includes their housing assignment, roommates’ names and contact information, and other helpful information to assist students with their move to the residence community.
