What You Need to Know — When You Need to Know It


Activating your Chapman Student Account

  • Shortly after receiving your offer of admission, an email is sent from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department to the email address listed on your application. It outlines how to activate your Student Account and access to my.chapman.edu. If it has been more than two weeks since your acceptance, please contact the IS&T Service Desk at
    (714) 997-6600 or servicedesk@chapman.edu for this information.
  • You will use this username/password to register online and access your my.chapman.edu student information system. 

Setting up your PantherMail E-mail Account

  • Once you are admitted, all official e-mails from Chapman (including information on your specific registration date and time) will be sent to your Chapman e-mail account.
  • Set up your new e-mail account, using the instructions outlined in the email from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department after being granted admission.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Financial Aid Processing Due 
March 2, 2016

The priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 2. If the priority deadline is not met you may still apply, but funding for certain aid programs may be exhausted.

Freshman Enrollment Deposit Deadline 
May 1, 2016

Applicable to incoming freshman only. You can make the deposit online here or by sending a non-refundable $200 check and completed student enrollment deposit agreement form to the Office of Admission.

Housing Application and Housing Deposit Deadline
May 1, 2016

Housing applications must be submitted online or postmarked by May 1 for first priority processing and submitted with a non-refundable $50 housing application fee and $600 security deposit (this deposit is separate from the enrollment deposit). Applications submitted without an application fee and a housing deposit will not be processed or considered for an assignment.

Registration Information Letter 
Mid-May 

Provides information on summer advising options and course registration. Note: all registration is done online, but students must complete academic advising prior to their assigned registration date. Students will have the option of receiving advising online or attending a small group advising workshop.

New Student Welcome Reception 
June - July 2016

Receptions are held throughout the summer all over the country to welcome new students and their families to the Chapman community. 

Academic Advising 
June - July 2016

Advising for new students begins the first week of June. Students must complete their academic advising requirement prior to course registration. The advising registration hold will be lifted only after students satisfy the mandatory advising requirements.

Math Placement Testing 
June - July 2016

Placement testing is completed online for those students who wish to be placed into a higher level math course. Any student who scored below a 540 on the SAT/Math or below 23 on the ACT/Math is required to take the Algebra Placement Test.

All new students will be assigned a specific date and time when they can begin registering for courses. Those dates will be available on your My.Chapman portal in late June or early July.

The Housing Assignment information and Notification Email provides students with housing information, which includes their housing assignment, roommates' names and contact information, and other helpful information to assist students with their move to the residence community.

Final High School Transcripts Due 
July 31, 2016

Final transcripts must include all final grades and proof od completion. Please submit all final transcripts to the Office of Admission.
