The great thing about Chapman is that it is a smaller-sized university. It provides for a really personal education, especially in the Schmid College of Science. Chapman is unique because everyone you meet is passionate about something and is so excited to be here. I transferred from Colorado State where it was hard to find passionate people and it seemed everyone would rather be somewhere else. People love the fact that they go to Chapman and get to challenge themselves and grow daily. That is such a positive environment to be in, which is why Chapman students are constantly doing amazing things.

I once wrote a short play called "Mary Choppins," which is kind of a dark yet funny twist on Mary Poppins. I got it published and several high schools and colleges around the country have produced it!

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Chapman University is unique to me because it gives every student the opportunity to shape their experience in their own way. There is no one path to take towards your degree, your leadership, and involvement on campus. There's something for everybody.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Chapman University is unique to me because I know all of the professors in my department on a first name basis, and I am able to have unique individual relationships with professors because the University is much smaller than most schools.  I have been invited to several professors' homes for events and dinners with other students, and it is great to really get to know your professors.

I am a member of the Chapman University Women's Lacrosse team, and for the past two years our team has made it to the National Championship.  My freshman year we won the National Championship which was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
I have never been in an environment where the people around me are so encouraging, caring, and happy. Chapman has wonderful students, faculty, and opportunities. The students are so driven and that energy encourages others to do the same. I could not imagine my college years to be anywhere but Chapman.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Chapman is a community unlike any other.  I love having to leave fifteen minutes early to class because I know I'm going to chat with so many awesome people along the way! The Chapman family creates an environment full of opportunities to foster growth, to explore, and to have fun. At Chapman University, you are valued for what makes you unique and for what makes you stand out.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Chapman is unique to me because of the immense sense of community here. Since it is a smaller campus it is so easy to build that sense of community with everyone. I love knowing that if I ever have to kill time, there will definitely be people on campus to hang out with. Being from out of state, I am so grateful that I have truly found a sense of home here at Chapman.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Because Chapman provides so many incredibly opportunities and areas of study, it never fails to attract an incredibly diverse group of students. My favorite part of being a Chapman Panter has always been getting to meet people from places I've never been and with talents I can't even imagine having -- you never cease to be amazed by all the things you can learn from your fellow students when you're here!

I always carry a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce in my purse. You never know when you may need it! Warning: don't try to take it in to Disneyland with you. Security probably has a collection of my Tapatio bottles that they've confiscated over the last three years.

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
Chapman is the kind of place that can make me feel comfortable and at home. I am surrounded by people I can be myself around. At the same time, I am constantly challenged by my professors, and also by my fellow students. Their curiosity, passion, and integrity inspire me to cultivate those qualities in myself.

Share an interesting fact about yourself:
I love plays (not surprising considering I'm a theatre major). I was fortunate enough to study abroad in London this past semester (Spring 2012), and I saw a grand total of 30 shows. I highly recommend Matilda :)

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
I love that I can walk around campus at Chapman and, without fail, see someone that I know. There is always a friendly face waiting to greet you whether you even know it or not. A lot of those faces you will meet during Orientation so don't take it for grated!  It makes going to class far more enjoyable!

The beginning of something great!

What makes Chapman University unique to you?
The relationships you form with your peers and faculty members. I have friends that go to other schools that learn in 400+ seat lecture halls. While some students may not have a problem with that, I am so happy to have an individualized education where my professors know my first and last name. It also isn't out of the ordinary to have lunch with your professor and your classmates, which I love!

I had the amazing opportunity to self-design my own major to make sure I received a personalized education. It combines the disciplines of English, Philosophy, Sociology, and Education. Now at graduation, I'll be the only student in Wilkinson College graduating with a degree in "Power of Language."

For the past two years I've "designed" my own shoes. I take a plain white pair of knock-off Vans and color on them with sharpies. Not only am I saving money, but I am making the otherwise dull shoes priceless, one-of-a-kind Garrett Addison originals.
