+-Residence Hall Checklist
Even in the most ideal living situations, on campus living can still make for a crowded situation. Think about what you will really need, and don't bring anything else! It is also recommended that you communicate with your roommate(s) to prevent duplicate items from taking up unnecessary space in the room.
Bring:
- Linens: twin extra-long bedding (some beds will not need extra long bedding, but it will fit all bed sizes offered in the residence halls), towels, pillows
- Cleaning supplies for bedrooms and bathrooms
- Bath/Shower Mat for bathrooms
- Laundry supplies (please no powdered laundry soap; our machines operate on a card system, so no need for quarters!)
- Electronics: television, computer, ihome
- Surge protectors/power strips (extension cords and multi-plugs are prohibited)
- Miscellaneous: microfridge, reusable adhesive putty for hanging posters on the walls, alarm clock, first aid kit
Do Not Bring:
- Halogen lamps, decorative/holiday lights
- Any appliances except hotpots, coffee pots, blenders, and mini-refrigerators up to 4.0 cubic feet (NO MICROWAVES unless part of a combination microwave/refrigerator unit)
- Candles, incense, extension cords, or multi-plugs
- Tape, pushpins, or nails for walls
- Pets/animals other than fish (maximum of 10-gallon tank size)
- All weapons, INCLUDING replicas, cap guns, BB guns, prop guns, water guns, knives with blades longer than 3 inches, martial arts weaponry, etc.
+-Residence Living License Agreement
All residents should have electronically “signed” the Residence Living License Agreement (RLLA) on the Chapman Housing Portal. The RLLA is the binding agreement between you and the university from the date you check-in through the end of the academic year. Please be sure to review this document carefully and to sign it prior to moving in. If you have any questions regarding the terms of the RLLA, please feel free to contact us.
