Erin is driven by her motivation to empower students with the tools to be successful, and enjoys seeing their dreams become a reality. Since joining Chapman in 2007, Erin has enjoyed being a part of an institution that embraces change and strives for continual growth. As the Career Operations Coordinator, Erin manages operations and student staff, as well as assists with the many exciting programs and services provided to students, alumni, employers and the campus community by the CDC. Erin earned her Bachelor of Art in Human Communication from Cal State Fullerton in 2006, and her Master of Science in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne in 2011. Prior to joining the CDC team, Erin worked in the Physical Therapy Department at Chapman, managing office functions and working with graduate students, faculty, and staff
Exploring new places and traveling abroad gives Erin the opportunity to put into practice her love of photography and adventure with family and friends. Erin finds food to be one of the simple pleasures of life, and loves trying new treats whenever possible. Embracing the positives, keeping a smile on her face, & laughing at every opportunity available helps Erin savor all that life has to offer.

Ilyana is passionate about helping connect our students to their dreams. Through the CDC, she has organized tours to DreamWorks Animation, Volcom, St. John’s Knits, Lucky Brand and more. Ilyana provides student services, employer relations, program development and assessment in addition to making sure student internship .
lyana joined the CDC in 2008 and holds a Masters of Arts in Student Counseling and an M.A. in Education Leadership, both from Chapman University. She coordinates the CU Internship Advisory board comprised of students, advisors, administrators and faculty across disciplines. She has served in leadership roles in the California Internship and Work Experience Association (CIWEA) and the Consortium of Liberal Arts Schools and Independent Colleges (CLASIC). What Ilyana likes best about Chapman is the capacity for students to achieve personalized career development and life-altering relationships. She has seen first-hand how our alumni network creates unimagined career opportunities. Ilyana enjoys tennis, Words with Friends, and traveling to her home region in the central California coast. She is grateful for friends and colleagues who continue to challenge and inspire.

What Ramon likes best about Chapman University is our strong reputation for excellence and our students’ thirst for mentorship, interaction and growth. Ramon came to Chapman University in 2009 bringing professional experiences as Director of Residential Life, Director of Campus Activities and Orientation, and Director of the Multicultural Living Learning Unit from campuses including Mills College in Oakland, California, Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. At CU, Ramon’s responsibilities include the Career Development Center, Healthy Panther Initiative, Student Conduct, Student Government, and Student Assistants in the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Office.
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Ramon received his Bachelor of Science in Structural Design/Marketing from Ball State University in Muncie. He earned his Master of Science in Counseling from Missouri State University in Springfield. Ramon volunteers at The Center in Long Beach and enjoys biking, softball, cooking and cleaning! He is a storyteller who loves movies, puzzles and psychological thrillers.

Since learning of the landmark 1947 OC school desegregation case Mendez v. Westminster, Sandra has been passionate about helping students realize educational and personal dreams. Sandra joined the Career Development Center in January 2012. Her responsibilities include internship guidance, resume review, the Career Expo (taking place on March 13 this year!), and outreach to build effective, thriving relationships between employers and our students to enhance careers and lives.
Sandra earned her B.A. in Sociology at University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Brandman University. She is the writer/producer of the Emmy-winning documentary Mendez v. Westminster: For All the Children / Para Todos los Ninos and has presented at Harvard Law School, the Smithsonian Institute and the U.S. Department of Education. With the College of Educational Studies, Sandra helped develop the Mendez et al v. Westminster et al Archive in Leatherby Libraries. Sandra enjoys walking, reading, food adventures, and time with family and friends. What Sandra loves most about Chapman is the compassionate environment with commitment to personal development and lifelong learning.

In addition to serving students through internship guidance and resume reviews, Sarah brings an artist’s eye to public relations and marketing in the Career Development Center. Sarah began in the CDC in November 2011 where she contributes her experience in promotions and graphic design to creatively engage our students and alumni. Sarah earned her B.A. in Journalism/Public Relations at California State University, Long Beach and is a contributing writer and photographer/designer for the Sacramento Bee and numerous magazines. Sarah loves Chapman University’s vibrant, passionate staff and the strong sense of community in our student body. Sarah was born into a family of artists – her grandmother was a fine artist and billboard artist in the day when billboards were hand painted. Sarah feels an artistic responsibility to represent the world in a way it is not often seen; art is a vehicle for that passion. Sarah also is a partner in a photography and styling business. Her interests include event planning, makeup art, special effects, body painting, and musical theater. Sarah’s roles have included Mrs. Hannigan in “Annie,” the lead in “Aida,” and Mrs. Walker in the rock opera “Tommy”…and man, can she sing!

As a Career Educator, Sharon’s passion is to assist students in being successful in the career and life planning goals. Sharon joined the CDC in fall of 2006 following her retirement after 30 years of service at the Career Center at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. While there, she received the STAR Award – Student Affairs Recognition Award for dedication to students and the student affairs division. A graduate of California Poly Pomona with a B.A. in Behavioral Science, Sharon earned an M.S. in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. Sharon works part-time in the CDC which allows her to opportunity to enjoy her grandchildren, three Akitas, two birds and a fish! Sharon encourages you to stop by the Career Development Center and looks forward to working with you.

Gale Sorensen came to Chapman University in January of 2006. She brings to the Career Development Center over 20 years of career counseling, teaching, and administrative experience from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Gale's passion is working with students and alumni to identify and reach career goals. She believes in empowering individuals with the process of self-assessment, decision-making, and job search so they can effectively use these skills throughout their lives. With her creativity, ability to connect with students and extensive counseling skills and experience, she is a great resource for students. Her background includes a Masters degree in Counseling and Bachelors degree in Communications both from California State University, Fullerton. She enjoys international travel, backpacking, and creative/artistic activities.

Victoria joined the CDC in January 2012, bringing with her a love for learning and passion for change. Victoria also brings 31 years of management experience in telecommunications and aerospace to the Career Development Center. Her responsibilities in the CDC include overseeing all projects and initiatives to powerfully serve our students and alumni. Victoria’s background includes a B.S., M.S. in Gerontology from USC, and an M.B.A. from University of LaVerne. Victoria also taught business courses at the University of Phoenix for eight years. She is continuing her passion for education as a Ph.D. student in Chapman University’s College of Educational Studies where her focus is on issues for Native Americans.
What Victoria likes best about Chapman University is the camaraderie among the caring faculty and staff. Victoria enjoys reading, music, travel, and spending time with her grandson. Victoria was born on the Gila River reservation in Arizona and is part of the Pima Indian tribe.
