LEAD 325: Leadership / Experiential Learning Lab: Civic Engagement Initiative

This course examines such topics as the relational leadership model, servant leadership, civic responsibility and service through an analysis of Hurricane Katrina and the impact that disaster continues to have on New Orleans and our society. The course will also include a nine-day service-learning trip to New Orleans, where we work with Rebuilding Together on home rebuilding projects.

This 4-credit course is offered during interterm and is listed as LEAD 325: Leadership/Experiential Learning Laboratory, Civic Engagement Initiative. The course began in January 2008, and has provided students with an incredible experiential learning opportunity since. To get a sense of the experience, read the blog from the January 2010 trip!
