One part of the General Education Program is Language Study. Most students will complete this requirement by taking a language course at the 200 level or higher.
You have two options for language placement:
- Take a language placement test via on-line testing on Blackboard starting December 1 to determine the most appropriate start level.
- Take the full language course sequence (101, 102, 201 or 202). This is appropriate if you plan to study a language you have never studied before.
Placement tests for Spanish, German, Italian and French are available via Blackboard starting December 1. Placement tests for Chinese and Arabic are scheduled by appointment with the faculty member in the respective language. Please call the Languages Department at (714) 997-6843 to schedule an appointment for either Chinese or Arabic. Placement tests for Japanese are scheduled by Carole Wayman, Testing Administrator (714) 628-7386. A link to the Blackboard site and testing instructions is available in the resource section at the end of this tutorial.
