Panther Housing Selection ("PHS" for short) is the way to do it! Panther Housing Selection is Chapman's process for both current residents who wish to return to university housing and for commuters who wish to move on-campus for the first time. Panther Housing Selection is for single undergraduate students only. Please see our graduate or married/family student housing page for information about those options.
The Office of Housing and Residence Life is excited to announce the launch of a brand new online housing solution provided by StarRez, Inc. This powerful new tool means that this year Panther Housing Selection will be entirely online! So no more waiting in long lines and fighting the crowds to select your housing assignment for next year. You will be able to apply for Panther Housing Selection, select your housing assignment and sign your electronic Residence Living License Agreement all from your own computer using the brand new Chapman Housing Portal.
PHS is comprised of two separate processes – The application and the selection process. Below is information that all students need to know about how to apply for Panther Housing Selection. To receive a priority assignment, the deadline to apply for Panther Housing Selection is April 6, 2009.
Detailed information on how to select your housing assignment using the new Chapman Housing Portal will be posted right here on April 14, 2009 so be sure to check back!

Please note that the University Houses and Glassell Apartments are not a part of this Panther Housing Selection Process. Students currently residing in these areas will participate in a separate process.

This is your personal "to do" list for the successful completion of the Panther Housing Selection Process. It will provide a brief snapshot of what is required to select an on-campus housing assignment for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Housing Application Fee
In order to participate in Panther Housing Selection, all students must submit a $50 Housing Application Fee. A Housing Application Fee is standard among institutions that provide superior online services similar to those that the Chapman Housing portal powered by StarRez will now provide.
Any applicant who does not submit the $50 Housing Application Fee will be billed for this amount at the end of the academic year.
All payments for the Housing Application Fee must be made at the Cashier's Office, located in the Bhathal Student Services Center. The Cashier's Office may be reached at 714.997.6616.
Security/Holding Housing Deposit
All students must have a Security/Holding Housing Deposit of $600 on file with Chapman University. If you are a current resident, you likely already have such a deposit posted to your student account and a duplicate deposit is NOT required. However, if you are unsure what the status of your Security/Holding Housing Deposit may be, you will be able to view your current account balance on the final page of your online Panther Housing Selection Application.
Should you need to submit a Security/Holding Housing Deposit, you may do so by going to the Cashier's Office, located in the Bhathal Student Services Center. The Cashier's Office may be reached at 714.997.6616.

Applying for Panther Housing Selection
Once you have read all of the above information, you are ready to apply for Panther Housing Selection.
Click on the link below and you will be directed to the Chapman Housing Portal and will be prompted to provide your user name and password. You will use the same user name and password that you use to access WebAdvisor.
Instructions for the completion of the Panther Housing Selection Application are both onscreen with more detailed instructions in the Informational Brochure. Once you complete your application for Panther Housing Selection, you will receive a confirmation email to your Chapman email account.
ALL PHS: ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2009 BY 11:59PM. ANY STUDENTS WHO SUBMITS THEIR APPLICATION FORM AFTER THIS DATE WILL ONLY RECEIVE A HOUSING ASSIGNMENT ON A SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS ONLY.
Submission of the PHS: Online Application Form does not, in itself, guarantee a housing assignment or require you to live on campus if you choose not to select an assignment.
