»Pre-Award Administration

The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs Administration (ORSPA) is the central team that is responsible for reviewing all research applications or proposals that Investigators submit to government and private funding agencies.

Pre-Award administration facilitates the identification of funding opportunities and solicitations and offers guidance to the Investigator on the application process and proposal review. As the officially recognized Administrative Office, we ensure that proposals comply with the Sponsor’s guidelines, federal, state, local and university policies prior to any submission.  We also review proposal budgets to ensure that costs are calculated correctly and appropriately and match the proposed scope of work. Pre-award administration also facilitates award receipt, negotiation and acceptance, after which, the award is then passed on to Post-Award administration in the Office of Contracts and Grants.
