Institutional Review Board (IRB)>>

Chapman University's authority that reviews, approves, denies and provides ongoing oversight of research involving human subjects in accordance with FDA regulations.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee>>

Chapman University's IACUC is charged with evaluating the scientific merit of experiments with ethical costs to animals.

Responsible Conduct of Research>>

As defined by the National Institutes of Health, Responsible Conduct of Research is the practice of scientific investigation with integrity. It involves the awareness and application of established professional norms and ethical principles in the performance of all activities related to scientific research.

Financial Conflict of Interest>>

Chapman University maintains a Financial Conflict of Interest policy to promote objectivity in teaching and to ensure the appropriate management of actual or potential conflicts of interest by all senior or key research personnel conducting research funded by federal grants.
