The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (OURCA) is to support Chapman University's goal of providing personalized education by promoting and facilitating student-faculty collaborative research, scholarship and creative activities.
The primary responsibilities of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity are to:
- Review and award Undergraduate Scholarly/Creative Grants and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF)
- Organize and hold the annual Chapman University Faculty Research Expo (fall) and semiannual Chapman University Research Day (fall/spring)
- Provide travel grants for undergraduates and their faculty mentors to present their research at professional conferences
- Serve as the public voice of undergraduate research at Chapman University.
