»Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (OURCA) is to support Chapman University's goal of providing personalized education by promoting and facilitating student-faculty collaborative research, scholarship and creative activities.  
The primary responsibilities of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity are to:

  • Review and award Undergraduate Scholarly/Creative Grants and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF)
  • Organize and hold the annual Chapman University Faculty Research Expo (fall) and semiannual Chapman University Research Day (fall/spring)
  • Provide travel grants for undergraduates and their faculty mentors to present their research at professional conferences
  • Serve as the public voice of undergraduate research at Chapman University.
