Mission
The Chapman Entrepreneur Club (eClub) exists to promote interest in entrepreneurship, educate the Chapman community about entrepreneurship in general, and inspire young entrepreneurs at Chapman to succeed and provide them with the tools to do so through hosting numerous speaker series, roundtable discussions, visiting entrepreneurial companies, providing access to professionals in Orange County, and through providing a forum from which entrepreneurs can learn from their mentors and peers.
Activities
Co-sponsorship of the Leatherby Entrepreneur Speaker Series, visiting Orange County Entrepreneurs on-site at their offices, mentorship programs with local entrepreneurs, access to discounted professional services, monthly club roundtable discussions/forums.
Unique Contributions to Campus
The Chapman Entrepreneur Club will provide a forum for student entrepreneurs to come together, assist each other on entrepreneurial ventures & ideas, and will provide opportunities for students to meet and spend time with successful entrepreneurs in Orange County.
Recent Activities
Visit with Ryan Heuser of Paul Frank Industries
The Chapman Entrepreneur Club visited the offices of Paul Frank and met with Ryan Heuser, Founder and Chief Creative Officer. We got to hear about Paul Frank’s rise to popularity from it’s humble beginnings in Ryan’s garage at his Huntington Beach apartment. Paul Frank has survived the perils of being in the Fashion Industry and has demonstrated themselves to be a dynamic and innovative company through their business model adjustments as the industry has changed over the years. Ryan, also a Chapman University Alumni is a great example of an Entrepreneur who’s been able to withstand the test of time since Paul Frank’s 1997 debut.
Visit with William Wang of VIZIO
William Wang, visionary, entrepreneur and CEO of Vizio, hosted a select group of Chapman Graduate and Undergraduate students and future entrepreneurs on December 1st at Vizio headquarters in Irvine. He led an intimate discussion through his journey on creating the Vizio enterprise. This was followed by a Q&A session where he left his words of wisdom with these future entrepreneurs. William was also gracious enough to lead a tour through all the divisions housed in the building. This included a tour of their showroom displaying some of their latest designs.
