»Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance

The C. Larry Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance was established through a generous gift from the Hoag family. The purpose of the Center is to provide academic and professional opportunities in real estate and finance to students of the Argyros School of Business and Economics.

+-The Mission

  • Provide support to faculty in developing a real estate concentration at the graduate level and maintaining the quality and currency of the undergraduate emphasis in real estate.
  • Develop, promote, and provide administrative support for certificate and continuing education programs in real estate and finance.
  • Offer seminars, conferences and forums on important issues in real estate and finance.
  • Recruit speakers in the real estate field for courses offered in Argyros.
  • Provide students with access to real estate industry practitioners, mentors, internships, and industry data and information.
  • Support faculty research in real estate by providing grants and access to industry data.
  • Work with the Office of Career Planning and Placement in preparing students for careers in real estate and finance.
  • Coordinate with other Argyros Centers (Anderson, Leatherby, and Schmid) on cross-disciplinary matters including research, extra-curricular activities, and degree and non-degree offerings.

Meet The Director

Mr. Fadel Lawandy has extensive experience in the financial industry with expertise in banking, credit management, commercial/residential real estate acquisition and financing, business lending, mergers and acquisitions, quantities and qualitative analysis and research, and portfolio management.

He retired as a Guided Portfolio Manager from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to join Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC as a Managing Director. He is the Co-Founder and President of Hunter Wise Capital Partners, LLC, a Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC company dedicated to the creation and management of opportunity funds. He is also an Assistant Professor of finance and real estate at Chapman University.

Fadel serves as the President of the CFA Society of Orange County on its Board Directors, and is an active member of CFA Institute.

    Housed on the 2nd Floor of Beckman Hall, the Janes Financial Center features 12 Bloomberg terminals to provide students with up to the minute financial data.
