Zachary J. Groenewold

Zach is professionally trained in ballet, jazz, and hip hop. He attended the Orange County High School of the Arts in the Commercial Dance Department, where he was fortunate enough to work with such choreographers as Dee Caspry, Liz Imperio, Margurite Derricks, Andy Vaca, and Alexander Magno. During this time Zach was able to dance in a variety of media, including New Line Cinema's The Wedding Singer, a Power Rangers commercial, and as part of ABC Family presents WESTLIFE: LIVE.
As a performer, Zach was a member of the San Diego-based dance company Axxiom Dance Collective from 2008-2011. He was selected to be a hip hop soloist and to represent the company at various performances. Currently Zach is a 3rd year member of the competitive hip hop team Team Millennia. He has spent a year on the team's executive board, and was co-captain for their 2011 Hip Hop International Competition Team competing in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, he has taught various workshops for Team Millennia, and has had a part in choreographing, staging, and leading various Team-related project performances.
Zach has spent the past 11 years at McPherson Magnet School in Orange as resident choreographer for their performing arts department. He created a2z, a Junior High-level competitive hip hop team, comprised of a select group of students focusing on artistic expression and growth. Zach has also taught various workshops, master classes, and choreographed for high schools, middle schools, colleges, and studios around the country.
