- Biography
- Patrick Pearson is an award-winning director whose work has taken him to both coasts of the United States as well as to Wales. His production of William Finn’s autobiographical musical A New Brain was remounted twice over a two-year period, with the second time being the Preview Event for the Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles. This production also had the honor of being performed for the author. His production of Altar Boyz played to rave reviews and sold-out houses at the Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood, and was the recipient of two LA Weekly Awards (Best Ensemble and Choreography). Other directing credits include The Diviners (Kennedy Center), Under Milkwood (Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Laugharne, Wales), Songs from an Unmade Bed (Celebration Theatre), Not About Nightingales (Walton Arts Center), Violet, Dead Man Walking, Seussical, Dog Sees God, As It Is In Heaven, A Piece of My Heart, Falling Dreams and Marisol, among others. He also directed the Pirates of Penzance-themed portion of the What’s Opera, Doc? 50th Anniversary Celebration for Linda Jones Enterprises (Looney Toons/Chuck Jones Galleries). He served as the Assistant Director on Duncan Sheik’s new musical Whisper House at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, where he is working in Summer 2010 as the director of As You Like It, which is part of their Summer Shakespeare Intensive Program for high school students. Other upcoming projects include House of Several Stories (workshop reading) at The Chance Theatre and Equus at California State University, Fullerton.
