Biography

Prior to joining Fowler School of Law in 2000, Professor Walkow practiced as a litigator at Peabody & Arnold LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, where her practice focused on the defense of civil cases, particularly in the areas of professional liability, premises liability, and product liability.  Professor Walkow also taught legal writing at Boston University School of Law prior to moving back to the west coast.  Professor Walkow earned her B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Irvine and earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, graduating cum laude.  At Suffolk University Law School, she received both the first-year Best Brief Award and Distinguished Advocate Award and served on the Law Review as a Comment Editor. Outside of teaching, Professor Walkow serves on the Board of Directors of Human Options, a non-profit organization that helps women and their families break the cycle of domestic violence.
