Biography

Dr. Jillian Wood serves as the Director of Undergraduate Education at Attallah College of Educational Studies, and teaches in the Integrated Educational Studies program. Dr. Wood graduated from Attallah College at Chapman University in 2016, with a doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Leadership Studies. Her dissertation focused on equity issues for female faculty in higher education. Her research focuses on equity-driven organizations that provide a space for employees to feel valued and safe. She also focuses on adult learning theory, building best practices for teaching diverse adult populations in ways that keep them motivated and eager to learn.

Prior to returning to Chapman, Dr. Wood taught at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) for three years, teaching introductory and advanced writing courses. Before teaching at CSUF, Dr. Wood worked in administration at Chapman University, first in Attallah College and then the Argyros School of Business and Economics. She has worked in higher education for more than nine years, with experience in budget management, student services, accreditation, admissions, and marketing.
