Biography

Jay Lowi got his start just after graduate school, when his thesis short 12 Stops on the Road to Nowhere went to dozens of film festivals worldwide and garnered awards at Slamdance, Aspen, Seattle, Deauville, Brussels, Sydney, and more. Lowi went on to direct Tangled, starring Rachel Leigh Cook and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough, starring Dina Meyer and Brad Johnson. He also wrote and developed projects for studios like Sony, Lionsgate Films, and Universal, and has produced and edited a variety of commercials and promotional campaigns for NBC television.

Today, Lowi is happy to be teaching at Chapman, where he has the opportunity to “share ideas, work with talented filmmakers, and help them make projects they are passionate about”.
