Biography

Christopher Vanover is presently a Senior Manager within the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's(PCAOB) Office of Research and Analysis where he serves as a technical advisor. His primary roles and responsibilities at the PCAOB include preparing and publishing research papers on relevant accounting, auditing, and economic topics, performing consultations on technical accounting and auditing matters, reviewing and commenting upon exposure drafts issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and assisting in training initiatives on technical matters.

Prior to joining the PCAOB in 2011, Christopher spent nearly a decade at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) auditing multiple public and private companies in a variety of industries. While at PwC, Christopher also worked within PwC's Center for Advanced Research and assisted with various national initiatives as part of PwC's Audit Transformation Program from 2008 - 2011.

Since 2010, Christopher has and continues to serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California, California State University, Fullerton, and Chapman University, instructing courses in auditing, as well as advanced, introductory, and managerial accounting. He is also a CPA Exam review instructor for Becker Professional Education.

Christopher earned a Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics-Accounting and Legal Studies from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. He is a certified public accountant in California.
