Brad Buckner has worked in television for over 34 years as both a writer and producer. He’s had a lot of incredible experiences—“but a stand out was at the very beginning, when I produced my first show at Norman Lear’s production company. [It was] truly a 24/7 commitment, working without a net... I’d barely staffed on a show before I was in charge of one!”

Today, Buckner enjoys helping students tackle their writing head-on. “I love it when students get excited about the work,” he says. He encourages his students to keep writing and to always share their work and get feedback from both their peers and professors. “Grappling with a stubborn scene is exactly what you do in the real world, and watching scripts transform is amazing. That’s why I teach.”
