Kay Roskam, Ph.D.
Professor Emeritus of Music, Music Therapy
Kay Roskam started the Music Therapy program at Chapman University in the mid 1990s. While at Chapman she received numerous awards and grants including the Betty Isern Howery Award for outstanding contributions the the Music Therapy profession. In 1997 she won a $25,000 grant from the Wiengart Foundation for research into the use of Music Therapy for Adolescents. In 1998, she founded the Music Therapy Associates of Southern California. In 1999 she was elected president of the American Music Therapy Association. She also served on numerous advisory boards. Her book, Feeling The Sound, originally published in 1993 by San Francisco Press, had a second printing in 2001. |
