Chapman Chamber Orchestra performance to be featured in
The Phillips Collection

Daniel Alfred Wachs leads the Chapman Chamber OrchestraThe Phillips Collection, the first modern-art museum in the United States and recognized for its intimate galleries, recently selected a recording to pair with its upcoming “Man Ray, African Art and the Modernist Lens’’ exhibition.  Via YouTube, they chose the Chapman Chamber Orchestra's recording of “La Création du Monde’’, a jazz-influenced work by composer Darius Milhaud.

The Chapman Chamber Orchestra's performance will be incorporated into the Man Ray exhibition, scheduled to run from October 10 through January 10 at The Phillips Collection.  Man Ray (1890-1976), American Dadaist and Surrealist artist, translated the 20th-century modernist taste for African art into photographs that reached a popular audience.

Listen to the Chapman Chamber Orchestra perform “La Création du Monde’’.

Congratulations to Daniel Alfred Wachs and the Chapman Chamber Orchestra!
