Free MCLE Program

Chapman University is an approved provider of California Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE.)

Chapman University has certified the webcasts on this site that are marked with the "MCLE" notation will qualify for non-participatory "self study" MCLE for California attorneys for the amount of credit listed. Each webcast counts as general MCLE and does not count for special credit in any subject matter or required topic unless noted.

Chapman University does not maintain attendance reports for self study MCLE. Rather, attorneys are responsible for keeping track of their own education. A personal log of self-study education activities must be kept. A sample self study MLCE log may be downloaded from the California State Bar Website.

If your compliance is audited, you must prove compliance with your MCLE requirement by providing your record of self-study activities including, as appropriate, the title, provider, time spent in the activity, subject matter of the activity, and the date on which you engaged in the activity.

Attorneys should note that there is a 12.5 hour maximum for self study credit per compliance period in California.
