Chapman Law Alumnus Gives Back to Alma Mater Terry Palmos, a 1998 graduate of the Chapman University School of Law, has given the school a $40,000 gift to be used in endowing an annual scholarship in the innovative Environmental, Land Use and Real Estate Law (ENLURE) program. Selection criteria will include a combination of financial need, academic achievement and participation in ENLURE-related clubs and activities. Palmos, a member of the Chapman law school’s inaugural graduating class, passed the bar in Colorado and immediately joined his father’s company, Palmos Development Corporation, as a vice president. The firm operates in the Boulder, Colorado area.
Said his father, Leonidas Palmos, “I’m very proud of my son and am very impressed with the Chapman School of Law. This is a beautiful and unique university, with tremendous potential. I’m sure Terry will continue to give back to the school in the future.” The School of Law’s unique ENLURE program – a key element of the university’s Roger Hobbs Institute for Real Estate, Law and Environmental Studies – differs from traditional environmental law programs and traditional real estate law programs in that it integrates the study of environmental protection and land-use regulation with the study of real property transactions and development. Students think deeply and creatively about issues that dominate today’s news and tomorrow’s legal and policy agendas. They develop problem-solving skills and professional judgment, learn from distinguished scholars and mentors, and pursue career opportunities that take them to the cutting edge of environmental, land use, and real estate law. |
