Chapman Continues its Rise in California Bar Pass Percentage, With Highest Pass Rate Ever

The results for the July 2008 California Bar Examination were announced on November 23, 2008, and the preliminary data shows that Chapman first-time takers achieved a 77% overall pass rate. This figure is the highest pass rate in the law school's history and continues a strong rising trend in recent years. "The class of 2008 should be congratulated for a job well done," said Dean John Eastman."The results were not only the highest for a July examination but for any prior examination in the school's history," he noted. Passing members of the class of 2008 will be treated to a "thank you" dinner by Dean Eastman for the new school record.

Chapman made strong gains in other areas as well, including a 91% pass rate for the top 75% of the class and a 100% pass rate by members of Chapman Law Review.
