This timeline was created to ensure that you follow the necessary steps to successful enrollment at Chapman University.  Please read carefully, note important deadlines and mailing dates, and follow each instruction.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact the appropriate office on campus.  Contact information is listed at the end of each step.  All links will open a new window.

Housing Applications available

Deadline to submite the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This is the priority deadline for filing the FAFSA.  Forms must be postmarked no later than the March 2 deadline.  If the priority deadline is not met, you may still apply through June 30, but funding for certain aid programs may be exhausted.  Contact: Office of Financial Aid 714-997-6741

Deadline to submit Housing Deposit.  Housing applications must be submitted online or postmarked by May 1 for first priority processing.  Applications must be submitted with a non-refundable $50 Housing Application fee and $600 security/holding deposit.  Applications submitted without an application fee and a housing deposit will not be processed or considered for an assignment.  Contact: Office of Housing and Residence Life 714-997-6603
11 Summer Registration mailer goes out to all deposited students.  This mailer provides important information on academic advising and course registration.  Note: All course registration is completed online via WebAdvisor, but transfer students have the option of meeting with an advisor prior to registering for courses.
 
11 Academic Advising available to all new students.  Starting May 11, and continuing through the end of July, the Academic Advising Center will be taking individual appointments with incoming students.  The online advising system will also be available at this time.  Contact: Academic Advising Center 714-744-7959
11 Math Placement Testing available.  Math placement testing is completed online for those students who need it.  If you have not taken a transferrable math course, and you do not meet the criteria for one of the math placement waivers outlined on the website, you must complete math placement testing to determine which math course is appropriate for you.  All preparatory math courses (Math 98/99) must be completed in your first year of enrollment at Chapman.  It is imperative that you take the math placement test of receive a waiver prior to registering for courses.  Contact: Math placement website or Academic Advising Center 714-744-7959

1 Enrollment Deposit Deadline.  A completed enrollment deposit form must be submitted with a non-refundable $200 deposit.  Contact: Office of Admission 714-997-6711 or toll free 888-CU-APPLY
11 Assigned course registration dates available on WebAdvisor.  Login to WebAdvisor and click on "registration eligibility" to determine your assigned registration start date and time.
1-30 Student ID Photo Submission.  Apply for your Chapman University student identification card by emailing your picture in JPEG format, along with your full name and student ID number to cardoffice@chapman.edu.  Contact: Telecommunications 714-744-7011
1-30 Chapman Email Account Setup.  All official email from Chapman (including information on advising and course registration) will be sent to your Chapman email account.  You can login using the user name and password you received when you applied.  Contact: Computing Services

TBA New Student Welcome Receptions.  Receptions are held throughout the summer, all over the country to welcome new students and their families to the Chapman community.  Contact: Parent Relations 714-997-6558

Mid Residence Life Housing Assignments email.  This packet will provide you with information on housing assignments, future roommate(s) and the move-in schedule. Contact: Office of Housing and Residence Life 714-997-6603
Mid Student and Family Orientation Registration is now available. Plese contact: 714-516-4600 with any questions.
Mid Fall Semester Billing Statement emailed to your student account.  You will receive a billing statement that details tuition and other charges for the upcoming semester.  Please note, the tuition and fee payment for the fall semester is due by July 31, 2009. Contact: Business Office 714-997-6617
13-14 Course Registration.  All new students will be assigned a specific date and time when they can begin registering for courses.  All course registration will be completed online via WebAdvisor.
31 Final Transcripts Due.  Please submit all final transcripts to the Office of Admission for review.  Contact: Office of Admission 714-997-6711 or toll free 888-CU-APPLY
31 AP and IB Exam Results due.  Please submit all AP/IB test results to the Office of Admission for evaluation.  Students must submit official exam scores for evaluation.  Contact: Office of Admission 714-997-6711 or toll free 888-CU-APPLY
31 Health Record and Examination Form due.  All students are required to return this form to Student Health Services.  Contact: Student Health Services 714-997-6851
 

August

25 On-Campus Resident Move In.  Contact: Office of Housing and Residence Life 714-997-6603
25 New Student Orienation begins.  A separate orientation is available for families and parents.  Contact: Orientation 714-516-4600
31 First Day of Fall Classes.  The academic calendar for Chapman University begins today.
