»Summer International Internships

Click on the internship locations below to find out more information. Summer 2015 applications for Dublin, Madrid, Australia, New Zealand, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Santiago Chile are now open! 

A $400, non-refundable application deposit is due to the Cashier's Office by 4 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014. All Chapman University required questionnaires and materials are due by Tuesday, December 9, 2014. The cost to receive credit is separate and is not included in program participation fees. To assist with tuition fees, students may be eligible for a tuition waiver for their participation in a summer international internship.

+-Australia Summer Internship

Immerse yourself in the environment of Australia and get an intimate view into a country rich in culture and customs. You will earn 3-6 units toward your degree and gain a new view of the world and your career! Internship opportunities are available in business, communication, education, information technology and law, science and social sciences.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with a 3.0 GPA or above
Course: INTI 490/590 A: Internship in Australia
When: 5/25/15-8/8/15
Cost: $7200.00-$7920.00 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

Program includes: Internship placement, Academic credit, Multi-day Bridging Cultures Program orientation, Guaranteed Housing – typically in a shared apartment, dorm, youth hostel, or homestay, Health insurance, 24/7 onsite support, Pre-departure services including assistance with immigration visas, airline tickets, orientation, Flight advice and booking options, Cell phone or sim card (minutes purchased at an additional cost), Pre-paid public transport card (in Shanghai and Hong Kong only – in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and Chile this is an additional fee for the participant), Option to add Mandarin lessons in Shanghai or Spanish lessons in Spain and Chile (for additional fee).

+-Dublin Summer Internship

The rich history and culture of Ireland through the lens of an internship is an extraordinary opportunity to integrate into Irish life. Dublin is the center of Irish industry and has a very international, cosmopolitan workforce. Depending on the industry in which you are interning, you could be in a small home-grown company or a multinational organization. Students can earn 3 units toward their degree and gain insight into the world and their career. Personalized internships are developed to suit both academic and professional goals. All students will attend a week-long orientation to Dublin through a variety of session topics ranging from Dublin culture to internship expectations.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with a 3.0 GPA or above
When: 6/8/15-8/1/15.  8 week program, 7 week internship component 5 days a week (M-F)
Costs: $5,420-$5,962 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

Program Includes: Internship placement, housing, one week orientation, cultural exploration activities program (program components subject to change).

+-Hong Kong Summer Internship

Hong Kong is one of the world’s truly international cities. Being an international financial center with the world’s freest economy, Hong Kong is Asia’s most globally connected city. All internships will be conducted in English, so no previous knowledge of Chinese language is required. A Hong Kong internship will provide you with a mix of opportunities and culture. Hong Kong is a great destination for any area of interest, particularly business, management, communications, advertising, and journalism.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with a GPA of 3.0 or above
Course: INTI 490/590 A: Internship in Hong Kong
When: 5/25/15-8/8/15
Cost: $7650.00-$8415.00 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

+-Madrid Summer Internship

Madrid is Spain's capital and the largest city in the country.  Experience the city's charms: a city with a rich cultural heritage and a booming metropolitan area considered to be Spain's headiest.  Chapman students now have the opportunity to intern in this beautiful city for 8 weeks, and earn 3 units toward your degree.  Internship opportunities are in a variety of industries.  Interviews for this program are conducted solely in Spanish.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with language proficiency equivalent to the skills achieved at the end of the 5th semester of college level Spanish, with a GPA of 3.0 or above
When: May 27, 2015 - July 18, 2015. Seven-week professional internship, four days a week (M-TH)
Costs: $6,322-$6,954 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

Program includes: Internship placement and on-ground support, telephone placement interviews, on-site orientation in Madrid, housing in homestay or shared flat, cultural exploration activities program, and third party liability insurance.

+-New Zealand Summer Internship

Experience New Zealand, famous for its breathtaking landscapes, dynamic culture, and dramatic history.  Chapman students now have the opportunity to intern in this beautiful country for 10 weeks in the summer.  You will earn 3-6 units toward your degree as well as gain insight into the world and your career!  Internship opportunities are available in business, communication, education information technology and law, and science and social sciences.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with a 3.0 GPA or above
Course: INTI 490/590 A: Internship in New Zealand
When: 5/25/15-8/8/15
Cost: $7200.00-$7920.00 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

+-Santiago, Chile Summer Internship

Chile is known for its natural scenery, whether it is the mountains of Patagonia or the beach resort areas along the South Pacific Ocean. Since Chile is 2880 miles long, it hosts a wide range of climates including northern deserts, Mediterranean-like climate in the middle, and an oceanic climate of alpine tundra and glaciers in the south. It is South America's safest and most thriving country that hosts a large, educated middle class population. Santiago is a modern city with a good public transportation system. Because Santiago is not as large as some of the other cities in Latin America, it makes it very manageable and easy to explore all that it offers. It is also the main business and commerce center of Chile, so it offers a wealth of career-building internship opportunities.


A wide range of internship placements in English and Spanish are available. English speaking placements will be focused in business, marketing, finance, hospitality, tourism, teaching, journalism, international trade, and conservation. Additional areas will be available to students who have intermediate Spanish language knowledge.

Program includes: Internship placement, Academic credit, Multi-day Bridging Cultures Program orientation, Guaranteed Housing – typically in a shared apartment, dorm, youth hostel, or homestay, Health insurance, 24/7 onsite support, Pre-departure services including assistance with immigration visas, airline tickets, orientation, Flight advice and booking options, Cell phone or sim card (minutes purchased at an additional cost), Pre-paid public transport card (in Shanghai and Hong Kong only – in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and Chile this is an additional fee for the participant), Option to add Mandarin lessons in Shanghai or Spanish lessons in Spain and Chile (for additional fee).

+-Shanghai Summer Internship

Shanghai is one of the world’s largest cities and one of its most important centers for business and trade. All internships will be conducted in English, so no previous knowledge of Chinese language is required. Shanghai is a great destination for just about any area of interest, particularly medical research, fashion, journalism, public relations, advertising, and hospitality.

Who: Junior and Senior standing in any major with a 3.0 GPA or above
Course: INTI 490/590 A: Internship in Shanghai
When: 5/25/15-8/8/15
Cost: $5750.00-$6325.00 (depending on number of participants) ** The Cost Range does NOT include any tuition costs. The most current summer tuition costs can be found through the Business Office.

+-Cannes, France Spring Internship

Learn the business side of film in this exciting internship at the Cannes Film Festival! Students have the opportunity to work with production, marketing, distribution, and many more types of companies. Students will earn 3 FTV 490 credits. Students must submit a resume and cover letter the semester prior to going abroad as well as have completed French 201 before departure.

Who: Students on the spring AIFS Cannes   Cannes Film Festival
What: 10-day internship with a film festival company
When: Mid-May during Cannes Film Festival
Costs: Included in Chapman tuition cost for semester study abroad on the AIFS Cannes program
