Parent Plus Loan Program

The Parent Plus loan program is funded through commercial lending institutions and guaranteed by the federal government. It is available to parents and guardians of dependent students.

Before applying for a Parent Plus loan, your student must first complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and be awarded a Plus loan.

After receiving an appropriate award, you must complete the Parent Plus loan process by signing a Master Promissory Note (MPN). If you wish to borrow from a Chapman University recommended lender, you may complete an electronic MPN by clicking on the link below. Otherwise, please obtain a paper MPN from your lender and mail it to the financial aid office.

After completing the MPN, your lender will evaluate your credit history to determine if you meet federal standards. If so, funds will be forwarded to Chapman at the start of each semester.

If you have borrowed a Parent Plus loan before through Chapman, you will need to click on the link below and reapply for the Parent Plus loan for each academic year. Depending on your lender and MPN, you might need to complete a new MPN. If so, please follow the instructions to complete.
