»Study Abroad for Athletic Training Students

The Athletic Training Education Program offers a study abroad experience during interterm and/or summer sessions each year. These experiences provide unique opportunities for immersion in another culture and country. Coupled with hands-on clinical education that directly relates to the Athletic Training major, students can develop professionally, learn leadership skills and work with different sport teams and medical professionals.

Currently, our established travel courses alternate between Australia and Germany. Students who travel with us "down under" learn at the Australian Institute of Sport (similar to our US Olympic Training Centers) and work with Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Net Ball, Australian Tennis Open, and professional basketball leagues. In Germany, students are introduced to musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostic examinations and high altitude training in the Swiss Alps. They also work with the FC Bayern Munchen Soccer club, one of Europe’s premier soccer teams.

The ATEP study abroad program is also planning new travel courses to Taiwan, Japan, and New Zealand. All athletic training students are invited to participate, and we frequently extend these opportunities to athletic trainers and students from across the U.S.

Tuition for courses that are held during the university's interterm (January) is free (3 credits) for full-time Chapman students. All participants are responsible for any additional program costs and airfare, as delineated for each course.
