Dr. Ruebén Martinez, Chapman University Presidential Fellow, honorary doctorate
recipient, and public intellectual, has joined the faculty in CES and is
actively recruiting first generation students to attend Chapman
University. Ruebén
Martinez represents the common person and the notion that common should also
mean literate and cultured. He believes art, books, learning, family and
community belong to all people and can be enjoyed by all people. Rueben’s life
transcends social class and income level, age and gender, politics and
ethnicity, borders and limitations. Ruebén Martinez
embodies the American Dream, what one can be when one dreams and strives toward
those dreams. Ruebén Martinez is America at
its best.
The creation of The Ruebén Martinez Legacy Campaign Fund is needed to ensure that the spirit, vision and accomplishments of Ruebén Martinez extend to future generations. His legacy centers on creating opportunities for all children and adults to receive the highest quality education, breaking the cycle of poverty and illiteracy resulting in strong communities benefiting the common good of all people.
