- About the Hosts
Host, Executive Producer
Pete Weitzner runs the broadcast journalism program at Chapman University. He received a Master's degree from Northwestern University in 1987, and is a twenty-year veteran of broadcast journalism.
In his news career Pete has interviewed three U.S. Presidents, and has reported, anchored and hosted the news from Yuma, Arizona to Los Angeles, California. Pete is a former CPA, and specializes in covering business and politics. He has anchored the business news on PBS SoCal, hosted local election coverage, and served as a media and business expert for KTTV-Fox 11.
Pete also co-produced and narrated the award-winning documentary "When Money Talks the Truth is Silent," the story of the Orange County L.C.
Pete's students are touring the country via their careers. Chapman TV graduates are working in front of and behind the camera everywhere from New York to Helena.
Dr. Esmael Adibi
Esmael "Essie" Adibi, director of the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research and Anderson Chair of Economic Analysis at Chapman University, received his doctorate degree in Economics from Claremont Graduate University.
His research interests include macroeconomics, financial markets, and regional economics. Dr. Adibi has co-authored two textbooks, Econometric Analysis - An Applications Approach, and The Practice of Econometrics with EViews. His articles have been published in newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, and the Orange County Register, as well as professional journals such as International Advances in Economic Research, the Journal of Private Enterprise, and the Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics.
Dr. Adibi is past president of the Association for University Business and Economic Research. He serves on the board of directors of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, and is a member of California Controller’s Council of Economic Advisors.
