Chapman Faculty or Staff Speakers
Chapman has many talented and knowledgeable faculty and staff speakers and performers who may be available for speaking arrangements.
Chapman Resources
The Department of Student & Campus Life, Student Government Association, and many Chapman faculty and stuff have numerous connections and resource information for speakers and performers. Utilize your campus resources when planning your event.
Speakers Bureaus
Below are some speakers bureaus through which you can contract with various speakers and performers. This is not a comprehensive list; many additional resources can be found through an Internet search.
- Keppler Speaker Bureau
- Washington Speakers Bureau
- American Program Bureau
- Campus Activities Magazine
- Lecture Agent
- LGBT & Multicultural Speakers
Working with an Agent
Artists may choose to be represented by an agent or agency that handles all contract negotiations. Agent fees are often included in the contract fee.
Middle agents are brokers who charge a fee to locate and book an act. When using a middle agent, you may be charged both an agent and middle agent fee. Beware of these additional charges. Chapman will not pay middle agents and clubs will not be reimbursed for payment to middle men.
Contracts and Riders
Contracts for performers can be extremely complex. Many performer contracts will also include one or more riders. Contracts may not be signed by any officers, members, or advisors in your organization. Contracts may ONLY be signed by the Chief Operating Officer at Chapman University.
**Note: Please reference Chapman University Standard Speaker/Performer Engagement in Section 16 - Contracts for all information regarding speaker and performer contracts.
