Event Planning Guide

»22. Parking

For events requiring on-campus parking for speakers/performers or guests:

  • Where to direct visitors or guests to park on campus - See the Visitor's Parking website for the most up-to-date information.
  • City streets - The streets adjacent to campus are reserved for resident-only permit parking. The affected blocks are marked with red and white signs. It is likely that you will be ticketed by the City of Orange if you park in one of these areas. Curb-side parking is allowed only on the campus side of the University perimeter.
  • Regulations for on-campus parking - All parking areas are restricted 24 hours-per-day, seven days-per-week. Vehicles must display a valid parking permit in all University parking lots. Visitors and guests must purchase a short-term parking permit unless they have received a paid permit in advance (see below).
  •  Pre-purchasing a parking permit for a speaker/performer - Contact Transportation Services to pre-pay for a permit for a speaker or performer for your event.  You must have an on-campus account and be an authorized signer of that account to pre-purchase permits.
