Phillips has been absolutely unconscious over the past 12 games for Division III's No. 1-ranked Panthers. The junior has raised his batting average from .325 to a team-leading .426 - that's 101 points in three weeks! In a three-game sweep against the University of Dallas this weekend, Phillips was 8-for-11 (.727) with 11 RBI and became the first player in Chapman history to hit two home runs in the same inning.

BASEBALL: June 6, 2008 - Chapman University junior RHP Kurt Yacko was selected by the defending National League champion Colorado Rockies in the 8th round of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft on Friday. The two-time All-American selection was the 257th overall pick and becomes just the second Panther to be drafted in the first 10 rounds since 1994, joining former Chapman RHP Andrew Tisdale in 2002. BASEBALL: May 25, 2008 - The Chapman University baseball team saw the dreams of another national championship come to an end with the reality that is the NCAA Division III finals. Champion Slayers: Panthers Beat Defending Champs for Second Straight Year

BASEBALL: May 23, 2008 - For the second year in a row, the Chapman University baseball team had to face the defending national champions in the first round at the NCAA Division III national championships. And for the second year in a row, it was no problem.
