Bachelor of Science in Accounting

Learning Goals

VI. Knowledge of Accounting: Graduates with a B.S. in Accounting will possess advanced and current knowledge in the field of accounting.

Description & Requirements

Course work in the accounting major gives students broad training in the field of business, supplemented by intensive preparation in the field of accounting. Graduates of the program will find professional opportunities in public accounting (CPAs), in industry, in government, and in not-for-profit organizations. Students pursuing the BS in accounting must attain at least a 2.0 grade point average in the major. In addition, they must receive at least a C- in all lower-division core requirements, upper-division core requirements, and ACTG 320, ACTG 330, ACTG 331, and BUS 475. All courses in the major are to be taken for a letter grade. Students are required to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of the requirements at Chapman University.
