There’s love in the air at Chapman University. Did you know that more than 1,000 Chapman alumni are married to fellow Panthers?
Check out this love story, as told by a Chapman Sweetheart couple:
Sarah Roberts Alexander ’03 and Jonathan Alexander ‘02
Wedding date: August 16, 2008
Jonathan Alexander and I met at Chapman in the spring of 2001 through a mutual Chapman friend. We spent just two wonderful weeks getting to know each other before the school year ended and we had to part for the summer. But our time apart didn’t end there. I spent the fall 2001 semester studying abroad in Athens, Greece. Despite the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Jonathan flew to Greece to visit me shortly thereafter. Now that’s love! In 2002, during my senior year at Chapman I was diagnosed with cancer, Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Jonathan never left my side; taking me to my chemo treatments and helping me keep up with my classes. Like I said, that’s love! We married in 2008 with many of our Chapman friends by our side. I have been cancer free for eight years and we’re expecting our first baby this December!
Jonathan ‘02 and Sarah ’03 were selected as the best love story during Homecoming & Family Weekend 2011’s Sweetheart Exhibit.
