Chamber Orchestra Concert to Honor Slain Journalist Daniel Pearl, Oct. 17

Program will include Mahler’s Ruckert Lieder, featuring guest artist Vladimir Chernov, baritone; Faure’s Pelleas et Melisande Suite, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C. This concert is in support of the theme "Harmony for Humanity" and is part of the global Daniel Pearl World Music Days, in honor of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, murdered by al-Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. Pearl's father, Dr. Judea Pearl, is expected to attend and speak briefly at the concert. $10 general admission; $5 senior citizens and students. For information, call 714-997-6871.
