Dutch Filmmaker's Controversial Short Feature To Screen April 4
ORANGE, Calif., March 27, 2009 – A screening of the controversial Dutch film Fitna will take place on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall at Chapman University. Filmmaker Geert Wilders will be present to introduce the film and take part in a discussion with the audience afterward. The event is sponsored by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, the Claremont Institute, the Lincoln Club of Orange County and the International Free Press Society, and hosted by Chapman University School of Law.

Geert Wilders, who is a parliamentary leader in the Netherlands, has come under public attack for making the 15-minute film Fitna, which juxtaposes verses from the Koran with scenes of violence carried out by jihadists. He is being prosecuted in the Netherlands for what the government is calling a hate crime, and was recently refused entry to Great Britain. He is currently traveling and speaking in the United States and Canada, and is under 24-hour protection due to death threats.
