Evening of Holocaust Remembrance is April 20, Memorial Hall
SPECIAL EVENT
Monday, April 20 Memorial Hall An Evening of Holocaust Remembrance 7 p.m. Presented by Chapman’s Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education and sponsored by the Lodzer Organization of California, with contributions from the Chapman University Conservatory of Music and College of Performing Arts. Words of reflection will be offered by Rabbi Arnold Rachlis of Irvine’s University Synagogue. Musical tributes will be performed by Cantor Chayim Frenkel, Kehillat Israel Reconstructionist Congregation of Pacific Palisades, accompanied by David Kamenir; and by students of the Conservatory of Music and College of Performing Arts. The guest of honor will be Maestro James Conlon, music director of Los Angeles Opera, creator and director of the “Recovered Voices” series, a multi-year project during which he brings the music of composers affected by the Nazi regime to the L.A.
