Loretta and Linda Sanchez to Speak, Sign Books on Dec. 3
ORANGE, Calif., Nov. 20, 2008 -- Reps. Loretta and Linda Sanchez, sister Congresswomen, will appear at Chapman University on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m., in the Bush Conference Center, Beckman Hall 404, to speak about their recently released memoir, Dream in Color: How the Sanchez Sisters are Making History in Congress. Following the talk, they will hold a book-signing (books will be available for sale at the event). This is the final appearance on their 2008 university tour of Yale, UC Berkeley, Georgetown, UCLA and Chapman (Loretta Sanchez is a Chapman alumna and trustee).

“The two chronicle their improbable journey with humor and candor,” wrote the Orange County Register of the book, “It isn’t just a memoir or autobiography that chronicles their life stories, although it does do that. There’s a point to it…both women are fiercely independent, opinionated, and said they see this as a work that will mentor and motivate the next generation of Latinas.” Publisher’s Weekly notes, “The Sanchez sisters vividly demonstrate the power of hard work and steady determination in this inspiring portrait of an extraordinary family.” Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
