How to get started?

Undergraduate Applicant:
If you are an undergraduate applying for admission to the Chapman University Argyros School of Business and Economics, submit a regular application online or by mail.

Graduate Applicant:
Prospective graduate students interested in the Full-Time MBA, Flex MBA or Executive MBA programs can apply online or download a printable application.

Some hints for graduate students:

  • The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required for all Chapman MBA programs.  The GMAT may be waived for applicants to the Executive MBA.
  • You will need two recommendations from people who have worked with you closely and know your work.
  • We prefer to admit students with at least two years professional work experience for our graduate business programs.

Admission Information

Admission to the graduate programs at The Argyros School at Chapman is competitive. Applicants are evaluated on academic performance, leadership potential, work experience, and communication skills. Admission to the program may be achieved by the completion of the following requirements:
  1. Submit the application for admission.
  2. Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  3. Achieve an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
  4. Submit two letters of recommendation
  5. Foreign applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree outside of the United States may be required to achieve an acceptable score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
  6. Complete a personal interview.
Interviews are required for the Full-Time MBA and Executive MBA programs. Interview fo rhte Flex MBA program are by request or invitation. Applications for the Full-Time MBA and Executive MBA programs are accepted for enrollment in the fall semester only. Applications for the Flex MBA program ae accepted for enrollment in the fall or spring semesters.

Admission Deadlines

The Graduate Admissions Committee attempts to make admissions decisions as completed applications are received; therefore, applicants are encouraged to apply early.

For full consideration, please apply by the following deadlines:

Fall 2009

Priority Application Deadline:

February 1, 2009 for Full-Time MBA, Flex MBA and Executive MBA

Students who apply by the priority deadline will receive first consideration for admission and department fellowships.  Applications received after this deadline will be considered on a space available basis until the class fills.

Preferred Application Deadline:

May 1, 2009 for Full-Time MBA
                                                      
July 1, 2009 for Flex MBA and Executive MBA

Spring 2010

Priority Application Deadline:

October 15, 2009

This applies to the Flex MBA only. Full-Time MBA and Executive MBA students are only admitted for fall. Students who apply by the priority deadline will receive first consideration for admission and department fellowships. Applications received after this deadline will be considered on a space available basis until the class fills.

Preferred Application Deadline:

December 1, 2009

This applies to Accelerated Full-Time MBA and Flex MBA only.  Executive MBA students are only admitted for Fall.

Tuition Information

For students matriculating during the 2009-10 academic year:

Full-Time MBA: $1,040/unit for students enrolling Fall 2009. 52-53 units required to graduate.

Flex MBA: $1,040/unit for students enrolling Fall 2009. 51-52 units required to graduate.

EMBA: $74,725 to complete 21-month program. Price includes tuition, laptop computer (with software), lodging and food for three residential, pre-class meals, books, registration fees and parking.

International Students

The International Students Services office acts as a source of information and assistance with the goal of making the international experience a comfortable and productive one. The office sponsors an orientation program, counseling on academic, financial and personal matters, assistance in class registration, information on immigration requirements, and information on social and cultural events.
