APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing ProgramThis program addresses planning and preparing for students during their clinical education experiences, developing learning experiences, and supporting ongoing learning through questioning and effective feedback. Skills of student evaluation are discussed, as well as the identification and management of students with exceptional situations. The program also introduces information regarding legal implications for clinical educators, including issues presented by ADA legislation.
The Assessment Center provides the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant participants the opportunity to apply information from the program in simulated situations.
American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program is designed for both new and experienced clinical educators. APTA will award a CI Credential to physical therapists who attend all sessions and successfully complete the Assessment Centers. Chapman University will provide documentation for continued competency credit for California re-licensure.
