The Centers of Excellence are part of the Schmid College of Science and Technology at Chapman University. As a whole, the centers promote interdisciplinary research in several scientific fields, focusing on cross-cutting themes that bring different fields together: Data mining, numerical analysis, statistical methods, etc. The Center of Excellence is comprised of several laboratories in specific areas, such as GIS and remote sensing.
